This is a Grande Reserve wine from a great vintage, winning a gold medal in 2005 at the Paris Wine Challenge. This is a good value red, given the great growing conditions of 2005.
The grapes are grown on argillaceous limestone, on a calcareous base, on the first "cote" of the Cher river between the Amboise and St Aignan forests. This wine has been made with work to reduce chemicals. The vineyard has produced wines since the 6th century.
40HL/hectare, produced in thermo regulated fermentation. Afterwards 9 months in Fench oak barrels.
Nose: Fruity and complex.
Taste: Cherry and chocolate with good length. Complex.
